One other way of saying it is that guys try to be interesting. They figure they should be interesting for a girl to be thinking about them. Sorry guys, but it doesn't work that way. They're both so busy trying to be interesting to the other that neither has time to be considering another.
If you don't know what I am talking about, think what makes you feel better. A girl who is interested in you? Or a girl who is letting you know how cool she is, how hot she is, and so on, and all kinds of other interesting factors.
Interesting leads to many rejections and "platonic" friendships by the way. Girls will be friends with a guy who is really interesting. Why? Girls like to be amused and entertained. Interesting guys are sort of like children to them. An origin of non-sexual amusement and pleasure.
